Abstract
561,506. Composite metal section-bars. MILLS SCAFFOLD CO., Ltd., and WELLS, G. W. Aug. 18, 1942. No. 11571. '[Class 20 (ii)] Composite sectionbars formed by securing together sheet-metal pressings of angle, channel or other section, wherein the flanges are bent back upon themselves to form double thickness flanges for the composite bar, as described in Specification 561,505, have the double thicknesses 5b, 6b joined together by forming flanged perforations 8 in them and rolling a seamed-over eyelet form at the edges of the holes. The abutting webs 5, 6 of the sections are joined together forming projections 7 on one web and apertures in the other web and pressing the projections downwardly on the web. The projections may be turned down in opposite directions for different positions on the web. Alternatively, the webs may be secured together by the forming of flanged perforations and seaming as previously described.
