561,033. Auxiliary changes. CAMPBELL, G. S., and WOODMAN, F. E. Dec. 3,1942, No. 17181. [Class 7 (ii)] A device for re moving and utiliz ing unvaporizec fuel in the lubri cating oil in the sump comprise! an exhaust-heated chamber f intc which oil is drawn through a pipe g by engine suction applied through a pipe e connected to the induction manifold ; the oil lifts a float b until a valve d carried thereby closes the pipe e whereupon the heat vaporizes the fuel in the-oil and the vapour pressure forces oil out of the chamber through narrow passages h and an outlet pipe j, leading to the crank-case, until the float sinks and re-opens the suction passage e. Non-return valves are provided in the oil pipes g, j and a hand cock may be fitted to the suction pipe e to put the device in or out of action. Exhaust gases pass through a tubular compartment a at the side of the chamber f.
