Abstract
560,219. Loud-speakers and microphones. ALLAN, W. H. May 4, 1943, No. 6964. [Class 40 (iv)] In a moving-coil loud-speaker, microphone or like electro-acoustic apparatus the length of the moving-coil 9 is so related to that of the gap between the pole-pieces that during normal operation the coil remains wholly in the gap, so remaining in a uniform magnetic field, and the pole-pieces 5, 6 are so shaped that their cross-section is greatest at the boundary of the gap and diminishes away from it.
