Abstract
569,321. Hygrometers. ELECTROFLO METERS CO., Ltd., and COCKETT, A. H. Oct. 28, 1943, No. 17792. [Class 40 (i)] In an electric hygrometer, a pair of resistances F, G in adjacent arms of a Wheatstone bridge vary in correspondence with the wet bulb and dry bulb temperatures, the other two arms being constituted by similar resistances D, E having a positive or zero temperature coefficient, the resistance A having a negative temperature coefficient and the current is supplied through a series resistance C having a zero or positive temperature coefficient. By suitable choice of values for the resistances, the reading of the galvanometer or other instrument H may be made proportional to the humidity over a range of dry bulb temperatures. To improve the accuracy the instrument may be shunted by a further resistance B having a negative temperature coefficient. The instrument H may be arranged to exercise a control function.
