Abstract
569,196. Dynamo-electric machines. WOLF, F., and SIGMUND, F. June 18, 1943, No. 9883. [Class 35] A stator has one or more arcuate slots dividing it into inner and outer portions and the outer portion has an opening or openings for the introduction of the windings from the exterior into the arcuate slot or slots wherein the individual coil sides are separated by magnetic members bridging the slots. In the form shown, the stator laminae of a submersible motor have slots 41 for the accommodation of windings introduced at openings 42 subsequently closed. The individual coil sides are kept apart by separate bridge members between parts 38 and 39. The coils are preformed with a rubber coating for insertion in one piece. There may be more than two arcuate slots, or, alternatively, there may be only one arcuate slot extending around almost, the whole of the stator circumference. The separate bridges may be laminated, of consolidated magnetic powder or moulded material containing powdered iron.
