Abstract
568,087. Elastic - fluid turbines. STEINSCHLAEGER, M. Sept. 15, 1943, No. 15149. [Class 110 (iii)] In a power plant comprising two or more turbines in series, gases produced in a combustion chamber 10 using fuel which is only partially burnt, are led to the first turbine 12 and then pass into a second combustion chamber 14 where further combustion takes place. The gases then drive a second turbine 17 and are led through a pipe 18 to a heat exchanger 5, finally flowing through a pipe 19 to an outside consumer. A compressor 1, preferably multi-stage, supplies air to a gas producer 6, by way of the heat-exchanger 5, and air to the combustion chambers 10, 14. The gas passes through an electric precipitator 8 for the removal of dust. Gases leaving the producer 6 may have air, steam or water added. The producer may be replaced by another type of gas generator.
