Abstract

567,092. Gun mountings. MOTLEY, L. July 16, 1941, Nos. 8985 and 14031. Addition to 567,062. [Classes 92 (i) and 92 (ii)] The gun mounting for use against aircraft, which is adapted to permit of more convenient gun depression when attacking ground forces as described in the parent Specification, is according to the present invention arranged to carry a plurality of guns and a single sighting device therefor. In the form shown in plan in Fig. 2, the gun support 1 is provided with bearings for shafts 3, 5 to which are connected the short telescopic arms 2, 4 of unequal length that carry the guns. Similar short arms are provided on the shafts 3, 5 to carry a sight bar 11 situated between the guns and movable in unison therewith when the guns are moved forwardly to the position for downward fire. The forward and rearward adjustments are limited by stops 6, 7 engaging the support 1. Specifications 491,217 and 567,061 are referred to.
