Abstract
566,145. Control systems for incandescent lamps and bells. HORSFORD, M. A. March 9, 1943, No. 3830. [Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Groups XXXVII and XXXVIII] An audible warning system is combined with an illumination system, the latter being controlled by a delayed action device so that the illumination is maintained for a certain time after the audible warning ceases. A press-button switch 8 has two groups of contacts 11 ... 13 and 14, 15, the first group closing the circuit of a lamp 20 and the second group closing the circuit of a bell or buzzer 1. When the button is pressed in, a catch 25 engages behind a shoulder 26, so that on releasing the button the bell circuit contacts 14, 15 are allowed to open, but further outward movement of the button is prevented and the contacts 11 ... 13 remain closed. The lamp 20 thus remains alight until a heater 19 supplied through the contacts 12, 13 causes a bimetallic strip 23 to bend and disengage the catch 25. An indicator lamp 22 may be included in the illumination circuit and a switch 21 for hand control of the lamp 20 may be provided.
