[Class 80 (iii)] [Also in Group XXIX] A linkage mechanism particu larly adapted for rapidly turn ing a stop cock spindle a througl 180 degrees comprises a radia arm b fast on the spindle pivot ally connected at its free end with one end of a connecting link d the other end of which is pivotally connected with one end of a pull-and-push rod f and also with one end of a bowed swinging link being pivoted tc a fixed support. The arrangement is such that when the pull-and-push rod is pulled or pushed, the pivotal connection between the radial arm and the connecting link moves around the axis of the spindle, whilst the pivotal connection between the other end of said connecting link, the swinging link and the pull-and-push rod is constrained to move on the arc of a circle about the fixed point on which the swinging link is pivoted. The pull-and-push rod at the end remote from the stop-cock may slide in a guide bearing an indicator.
