Abstract

564,277. Fence posts. PRATT & CO. (1928), Ltd., J. A., and JANES, S. March 18, 1943, No. 4431. [Class 45] A reinforced concrete fence post 1 is cast with mortices 2 for receiving the ends of the rails or gravel board. The mortices 2 are greater in length than the rail end or tenon to allow of the rail being fixed at various heights, the securing of the rail being effected by pins 7 passed through holes in one face of the post to enter, after traversing the rail, corresponding holes in the opposite face. Holes may be provided, if desired, also in the rail tenons. Wooden or like filler pieces may be inserted in the mortices 2 above or below, or both, the rail, and be secured similarly by pins 7. The rails may also be reinforced.
