Abstract
564,162. Chlorine dioxide. MATHIESON ALKALI WORKS. Jan. 25, 1943, No. 1262. Convention date, Nov. 28, 1941. [Class 1 (ii)] Chlorine dioxide is made by reaction between chlorine and an alkali or alkaline earth metal chlorite in the solid state, e.g. solid sodium or calcium chlorite.. The chlorine is preferably diluted with air or nitrogen. The process may be used for the removal of chlorine from chlorine dioxide. Specification 456,569 is referred to.
