Abstract

550,162. Hooks. BARTON, P. C. Oct. 30, 1941, No. 13962. [Class 89 (ii)] Pivoted mousing pieces for crane &c. hooks are arranged to aid in carrying the load when in the closed position. When the load supporting member engages the hook it locks the mousing piece b<1> about the pivot c to engage the face a' on the projection a', and to bring the part b<2> into fitting engagement with the part a<3> of the hook as shown in Fig. 4. The end of the part b<3> engages the shoulder a<4> to take the load off the pivot.
