Abstract

558,532. Binding posts; mounting terminals. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. July 8, 1942, No. 9467. Convention date, July 12, 1941. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XI] A lamp 10 in which the apertures 18 for the lead-in wires are covered by metal cups 19 sealed to the glass, has terminal strips 25 formed with pressed-in eyelets 27 for soldering to the cups and with binding screws 32 for securing leads 33. One end of each strip is bent down and shaped to a concave form 36 so that its projecting tips rest on the bulb and stiffen the terminal. The other end extends over the exhaust tube tip 24 and is cut away to leave a space for the tip between prongs 30. This space may correspond 6 to the narrowed part 38 at the opposite end to economize material in stamping out the strips. A tongue 39 is pressed up from the strip to engage the end-piece 34 on the lead 33 and lock it against vibration. Specifications 471,301 ; 515,091 and 526,924, [both in Group XI], are referred to.
