Abstract
548,812. Jigs for drilling, punching &c. GENERAL AIRCRAFT, Ltd., and WURR, C. E. July 3, 1941, No. 8418. [Classes 83 (iii) and 83 (iv)] Jigs for use in drilling and punching &c. are made from a tough synthetic resin with bushes 3 for the locating points pressed in. The hole for the drill is lined with a split bushing 4 preferably of thin hardened steel. The edges of the bushing have interengaging formations 8 which may be of dovetailed shape. The bush is made a close fit on a sized mandrel and is preferably opened slightly before hardening so that the resulting spring pressure prevents displacement of the bush during use. The body of the jig may be made from wood. In some cases the bushes 3 may be omitted.
