Abstract
545,407. Refrigerators. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. Sept. 5, 1941, No. 11384. Convention date, Sept. 7, 1940. [Class 29] [Also in Group XXVI] A sealing gasket for refrigerator cabinets &c. comprises a hollow rubber striking bead 23 having an integral tangential portion 27 projecting at the outer edge; the depth of the tangential portion may be less than the unstressed thickness of the bead. A retaining portion 26 may extend over the bead, providing a recess for the inturned flange of a sheet-metal cover 19 held in position by a member 28 welded to the flange 22 of the refrigerator casing, and by a bracket 29. The casing encloses an inner casing or liner forming the food compartment and separated from the outer casing by insulation 16, the upper part of which is covered by a moistureproof cloth 18.
