530,030. Brush-holders for dynamo-electric machines. ELECTROLUX, Ltd. (Aktiebolaget Elektrolux). June 14, 1939, No. 17437. [Class 35] In a brush-holder made of insulating material for small motors and of the type in which a cover closes the outer end of the sleeve part through which the brush is spring-pressed, one side wall of the sleeve has a longitudinal recess or slot forming a passage for the flexible lead to the brush as the brush moves inwards during use. The interior of the sleeve may be rectangular and of T-shaped cross-section. In the form shown, the brush 14 occupies a channel 23 and the recess 18 enables the lead 19 to move freely without fouling the spring 17. The channel walls are of moulded insulating material. The screws 22, which secure the holder to the machine, also retain the cover 16 of the holder in position and the shape of the projecting cover is such that it lies within the general outer contour of the machine to protect it from damage. In an alternative form, a flattened cover is used and is secured in place by a single screw.
