Abstract
536,191. Securing wear sleeves on shafts. WEIR, Ltd., G. & J., and HILLIER, H. April 20, 1940, No. 7157. [Class 80 (ii)] A renewable sleeve assembly for a rotary pump shaft and stuffing-box comprises a split sleeve 12 maintained on the shaft by continuous sleeves 8, 10 whicn grip the ends of the split sleeve. The sleeves 8, 10, 12 are pressed together axially by a shoulder 7 on the shaft and by a nut 14 and locknut 15. The meeting faces 13 of the split sleeve may be stepped as shown; the engaging ends of the sleeves may be coned.
