Abstract

534.403. Lamps. LILLIE, W.. CLEARY, J. J., and KAVANAGH, P. Oct. 11, 1939, Nos. 25516 and 30710. [Class 75 (ii)] [Also in Group XVIII] Optical-projection apparatus for the display of advertisements &c. or for illumination, comprises a conical casing a which can be opened about a longitudinal side hinge a<SP>2</SP>. At the larger end is a hinged back e carrying a lamp c and reflector d. A lens j throws an image through an aperture a<SP>4</SP> in the forward end of the casing on to a screen separate or combined with the projector, and optionally angularly adjustable therewith. An image may be projected on to the screen by inserting a removable stencilled plate m between the lamp c and the lens j, or by forming the filaments of the electric lamp or lamps c in the shape of images, or by providing the matter to be projected on the reflector d, which in this case may be made rotatable. A colouring device comprising a diffracting prism l is located in a cap k rotatable on the front end of the casing a. The prism l may be mounted on a spindle o for angular adjustment, or may be rotated by hand or a motor. The casing is pivotally mounted on the top of a shaft slidable in a stand t.
