Abstract

523,926. Transformers. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd., WALKER, J. H., and STRETTON, A. T. Jan. 17, 1939, No. 1649. [Class 38 (ii)] Ventilation of non-rotary electrical apparatus such as induction regulators is effected by fan blades 18 on a rotor 17 which extends within the field of the apparatus to be cooled. Either the stator 4 or rotor 5 of the regulator may be arranged to overhang or both may be grooved so as to enable the fan rotor to be brought into closer co-operation therewith. The latter may be of solid metal, or slotted, or of insulating material with metallic inserts or a metallic ring on the edge extending into the field. Specification 187,921, [CLass 38 (ii)], is referred to.
