Abstract
521,875. Boring-heads; reamers. WESSON CO. Nov. 30, 1938, No. 34831. Convention date, Jan. 19. [Class 83 (iii)] In a boring-head, reamer &c. a cutter 11 of square section is adjusted within an inclined opening 12 in a body 10 by means of a bolt 17 threaded within a tapped hole in the non-cutting end of the cutter and having a flange 22 seating on the base 23 of an aperture 13 in the body. A spring 19 engages the end of the bolt to prevent unlocking due to vibration &c. and a sleeve 18 screws in the aperture 13 to hold the flange 22 rotatably against the base 23. The bolt 17 is rotated by a wrench engaging a polygonal recess 25 therein and the cutter is clamped after adjustment by a set screw 27 recessed within the body 10. Another cutter may be mounted in the body above the cutter 11 and adjusted in the same manner.
