Abstract

528,056. Smokers' ash receptacles. LUCAS, Ltd., J. and SIMCO, H, V. April 21, 1939, No. 12001. [Class 130] An ash receptacle suitable for public vehicles or buildings comprises a back plate a secured by screws &c. to the back of a seat or other support, and a hollow body d, and a cap f hinged at c, e to the back plate, the cap normally fitting over the upper end of the body. A snap button or other catch g, h, prevents the body from being accidentally swung away from the back plate when the cap f is released from the body. As shown, the cap has an opening formed by a depending tube j, and this and a baffle k serve to minimize the escape of smoke.
