517,988. Railway signalling apparatus. WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO., Ltd., VENNING, C. F. D., and CHALLIS, E. W. Aug. 12, 1938, No. 23859. [Class 105] Route setting or, locking apparatus having devices for the individual operation of the points or signals is provided with indication lamps or the equivalent to denote if the points or signals are free for individual operation. Fig. 1, shows a panel diagram for a simple track layout having a lever 3P for the individual operation of the cross-over 3, but such lever during normal working occupies the central position C, the various routes 2-4, 6-8, 2-6, 6-2 being set up by route buttons (not shown). If the crossover is free for individual operation a lamp 3FK is lit over a front contact of a relay 3FKR which is energized ever front contacts 2TR, 6TR of track relays, normal-contacts #2-LR, @6-8LR of #N N route setting relays and normal contact @3LR of #N the points setting and locking relay, it being assumed that the cross-over 3 is set normal. On putting the lever 3P to the reverse position R the point setting and locking relay has its reverse winding 3LR(R) energized whereby the cross-over 3 is set at reverse. The lamp is extinguished during the change over but is again lit as soon as the relay 3FKR becomes energized over the front contacts 2TR, 6TR of track relays, normal contacts #6-2LR, #2-6LR of route setting #N N relays, and reverse contact #3LR of the points #N setting and locking relay. The cross-over is of course put at reverse if a route relay closes a reverse contact #2-6LR or #6-2LR to energize #R R reverse winding 3LR(R) of the points setting and locking relay over contact #3P of the lever #C in the central position.
