Abstract

516,766. Alloys ; annealing. BRITISH ALUMINIUM CO., Ltd., and DYSON, H. G. June 7, 1938, Nos. 16839/38 and 16675/39. [Classes 72 and 82 (i)] Aluminium alloys contain up to 5.5 per cent. of zinc and up to 2.75 per cent. of magnesium, the sum of the zinc and magnesium being at least 4.5 per cent. and the zinc content being 1.9-5 times the magnesium content. The alloys may be heated to 300-500‹C. and cooled quickly or slowly, and this may be followed by heating to 100-200‹C. or by ageing atroom temperature.
