Abstract

502,230. Paper containers. BANDCAN CORPORATION. June 22, 1938, No. 18587. Convention date, June 22, 1937. [Class 66] Metal ends are attached to wound cylindrical paper carton bodies by flanging outwardly the projecting portion 13 of a metal strip 12 inserted in the end, inserting a flanged metal cap 14 into the body, crimping together the flanges 13, 16, and turning or crimping them down against the exterior wall. To assist in locking the strip in place it may be formed with serrations 20 or may be perforated. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that the invention is not limited to the employment of wound bodies, or to the use of paper, and that the strip 12 may be moulded in position in such other body formations. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
