Abstract
508,901. Closures for bottles &c. ENOCK, A. G. April 27, 1938, No. 12518. [Class 125 (iii)] A bottle or similar vessel having a capretaining groove B, Fig. 1, around the lip into which the skirt of a flexible cap is pressed by an elastic ring while the bottle is being capped, is provided with a number of small projections b so shaped and disposed that they do not join or make contact with the upper edge b<1> of the groove, but project outwards from the bottom of the groove to a distance equal to less than its depth leaving the upper or both edges of the groove uninterrupted, whereby when the cap is pressed by the flexible ring into the groove, it makes close contact with the upper edge of the groove all round, so making a tight joint. In other forms, the projections bare rectangular and flat, Fig. 2, curved and sprung from the lower edge b<2> of the groove B, Fig. 3, or rectangular and sprung from the lower edge. Preferably, the projections do not join with either edge. They may also be of triangular, elliptical, or diamond shape,
