506,731. Batteries. ANDRE, H. U. Nov. 23, 1937, No. 32289. Convention date, Dec. 28, 1936. Addition to 491,782. [Class 53] The grids or screens for receiving deposited metal in the accumulator of the parent Specification are made of flattened strips which are arranged normally to the surface of the adjacent negative electrode except at the points where they cross where they are oblique. Fig. 4 shows a portion of a grid made from strips 108. The grid may be made in the form of a cylinder within which the negative electrode is placed, the grid being subsequently flattened to conform to the shape of the electrode. The negative electrode covered with the grid may be folded as shown in Fig. 6 to form compartments to receive the positive electrodes with their cellulosic coverings. Fig. 1 shows the upper part of an accumulator having a metal casing 5 with which the negative electrodes are in direct contact, the positive electrodes being connected together by conductors 21 which pass through the caps closing the cellulosic coverings of the positive electrodes.
