Abstract

505,046. Valve accessories; portable drilling - machines. DYER, A. E., and PARSONS, W. G. Nov. 18, 1937, No. 31742. [Class 135] [Also in Group XXII] A screw-down valve of the pillar type has the valve spindle b below the valve washer g constituted as a diall k and is provided with means for attaching it to a pipe m leading from the lower part of a cistern so that a hole r may be drilled through the wall of the pipe and all the water discharged from the cistern. The spindle has an enlarged threaded part d above which a handle is applied at f. The valve casing is formed integrally with one of the clamping members n and has an outlet branch c to which a hose may be attached. The clamping members n, o are connected by screws p, a gasket q being interposed between the member n and the pipe m. The washer g co-operates with the valve seat h after the hole is drilled.
