Abstract

<PICT:0499478/IV/1> p A ring is formed integral with or attached to the washing cylinder 6 of the apparatus claimed in the parent Specification adjacent the lower end of the washing zone, to separate washing water from acid. This ring 16 may have one or more grooves 17 in its surface and liquid may be stripped therefrom by a pad 19 fastened to a swivel-mounted and adjustable arm 18.
