Abstract
498,135. Regulating switches. BBACCO, S. June 28, 1937, No. 17971. Convention date, June 26, 1936. [Class 38 (v)] A regulating switch comprises a resistance coil 1 of flat ribbon having rigid turns to each of which is fixed a metal plate 4. Each plate 4 is apertured so that all the plates can be threaded on an insulated bar 13 together with insulating spacers 5 the whole stack being clamped by end nuts so as to support the resistance with the turns spaced in the air. The outer edges of the plates 4 constitute contacts for engagement by a slider 6 on a rod 7 carried by a member 8 on the bar 13 and to which current can be led by a terminal 10. A member 9 is provided for leading current to the first turn of the resistance. The contacts may be in a circle and the slider may be replaced by a rotating arm.
