[Class 61 (iii)] A spanner comprises a socket member a adapted to engage the head of a screw &c. and rotatably mounted on a handle b, the socket member a being provided with a toothed wheel c for rotating it independently of the handle which has screw engaging notches d at the end. In the modification shown in Fig. 2 the socket member a is mounted in a slot e in the handle b so as to be displaceable and may be rotated by means of a projectionf on the handle adapted to engage the toothed wheel c.
