481,977. Wearing - apparel. SPAIN, R. W. Oct. 13, 1936, No. 27814. Convention date, May 26. [Class 141] A combined girdle and shorts garment comprises an elastic girdle portion 1 including circumferentially extending elastic threads, the lower edge of the portion 1 inclining downwardly towards the front of the garment, and a pants structure including side sections 6, 7, preferably of elastic fabric which overlap at the front of the garment at 9, and a rear section 8 preferably of two-ply elastic fabric which extends through the crotch and upwardly in front where it is joined at 13 to the edges of the sections 6, 7. The upper part 2 of the girdle portion 1 is preferably of less strength than the remainder thereof. In a modification, the rear of the girdle portion is provided with an inelastic panel. In a further modification, the inelastic panel may be arranged at the front of the garment.
