Abstract
481,176. Circular - saw machines ; grinding. BROUSSOUSE. F. L. May 27. 1936, Nos. 15015 and 15016. Void. Convention dates, May 27, 1935 and Oct. 21, 1935. [Classes 60 and 145 (ii)] A circular saw 3 or grinding-wheel and its driving motor 4 are pivotally mounted at 11 between the cheeks 5, 6 of a cap fixed at 7 on an arm 8 pivoted at 9 on a pillar 10. A handle 13 has a part 15 co-operating firstly with a drum 14 integral with the arm carrying the saw and motor and secondly with the cheek 5 through balls and springs 23, 24, 25, 26 ; substantially horizontal movement of the rotary tool about the pivot 11 is effected by the vertical portion 17 of the handle, the tool being automatically locked in its adjusted position ; substantially vertical movement of the rotary tool about the pivot 9 is effected by the horizontal portion 18 of the handle ; a a switch 19 for controlling the motor 4 is so located that it can only be actuated when the hand of the operator is on the portion 18 of the handle. In a modification, the vertical portion of the handle has a shaft working in an extension of one cheek, said extension forming the horizontal handle portion.
