Abstract

486,732. Securing globes to holders. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO.,Ltd. Dec. 1, 1937, No. 33220. Convention date, Dec. 1, 1936. [Class 75 (ii)] The globe 5 of a lighting fitting is secured to the cover or canopy 13 by means of a spring collar 7 attached to the neck portion 6 of the globe and carrying a series of magnets 9 co-operating with a magnetic ring 14 sprung into a groove 15 on the inside of the canopy. In a modified form, a. magnetized ring is cemented to the neck of the globe and a ring of magnetic material is cemented inside the canopy. Alternatively the magnetized ring may be secured to thecanopy and thering of magnetic material to the globe. Specifications 382,471, [Group XV], and 424,746 [Group II], are referred to.
