Abstract

473,875. Stays. INGRAM, J. H. April 28, 1937, No. 12084. [Class 65 (i)] In a window stay of the kind in which the stay-bar 1 is pivoted to the sash and slides in a guide 3 pivotally mounted on the frame, the guide 3 having one or more lateral projections 6 for engagement with notches in the stay-bar by downward movement of the latter, the projections 6 are tapered in width or thickness, or both, to allow easy engagement without permitting rattle when fully engaged. The projections 6 may be semicircular or triangular in section, and may be in line with or offset from the pivot of the guide 3. The stay-bar is attached to the sash by a universal joint 8.
