Abstract
470,596. Directive wireless signalling. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE. June 25, 1936, No. 17694. Convention date, June 25, 1935. [Class 40 (v)] Two cardioid fields which overlap to produce a guide line GL, Fig. 1, for naviga tion purposes are producec by varying the tuning of a single reflector R, Fig. 2 backing an energized aeria A. When the contact k is open, and the two tuning impedances A1, A2 are in circuit, the reflector pro duces one cardioid field when the contact is closed a " reversed field is radiated which is the mirror image of the first. The arrangement is designed to avoid the production of keying " clicks " which prevent the smooth merging of the A-N modulation notes along the guiding-line when two keyed reflectors are used. The impedances A1, A2 may be arranged in parallel instead of in series.
