Abstract

A parabolic glass body forming part of an electric incandescent lamp is provided with an internal coating of aluminium by vaporizing U-shaped loops of aluminium wire which are hung upon a heating-filament mounted on a plate which is used as a temporary closure for the open end of the vessel. The vessel is evacuated before the filament is heated.
