Abstract

478,044. Spits. ROQUEJOFFRE, G. May 5, 1937, No. 12880. Convention date, May 14,1936. [Class 28 (i)] A spit comprises two spoked plates 1 each having a central aperture into which lugs 3 project, the lugs carrying bushes 4 in which the limbs 5 of a U-shaped skewering-member are slidable. When the meat 7 is impaled it may be supported in any of the positions of rest provided by the spokes 2 on the plates 1. To facilitate turning of the spit in the oven, a member which may be detachable from the spit, is provided, whereby the spit may be grasped. The lugs 3 are offset relatively to the planes of the plates 1, so that, when the device is not in use, the skewer-member may be accommodated between the plates and the lugs.
