Abstract
477,677. Control of motors. KOLLNER, M. May 28, 1937, No. 14831. Convention date, June 13, 1936. [Class 38 (iii)] Travelling between predetermined limits; continuous reversals.-The automatic stoppage or reversal of the motor 9 driving a carriage 4 carrying the impression cylinder 6 in a flat forme printing press at the limits of its travel is controlled in dependence on the position of the lever 12 controlling the speed-regulating resistance 13 of the motor. The lever 12 is connected by a rod 14 and slotted lever 15 to a pulley 16 to which the ends of a Bowden wire 17 are attached. The guides 18 for the wire are secured to a casing 19 and to blocks 20, 21 secured in a guide rail 22. A slider 23, movable along the rail, is secured to the portion of the wire 17 between the blocks, and the position of the slider is thus dependent on the position of the lever 12 and hence on the speed of the motor. The rail 22 is pivoted to levers 26, 27, and when a roller 30 on the underside of the carriage 4 engages the slider 23, the slider and rail are depressed, and the rail pushes in the pin 28 of a switch 29 controlling the stoppage or reversal of the motor.
