Abstract

476,007. Measuring fabrics &c. MENSCHNER, J. March 4, 1937, No. 6485. [Class 42 (ii)] In a machine for measuring fabrics &c. the registering apparatus 7 and the printing apparatus m are driven through a friction coupling 2a under the control of the measuring wheel 3. As shown, the cloth feed roller 13 is coupled through the friction coupling 2a with a hollow shaft 1 which carries a casing 8 and a gear-wheel 6 gearing with a wheel 6a of the registering &c. apparatus. Two connected idle wheels 5a, 9a within the casing gear respectively with a fixed wheel 5 and with a wheel 9 on a shaft 11 carrying also a brake drum 8a. The band brake 8b has one end fixed to the casing 8 at 8e and the other end to a lever 12 pivoted at 8h to the casing S. The other end of the lever 12 engages a crank-pin 8c geared to the measuring roller 3. The friction coupling tends to overdrive the registering &c. apparatus 7, m, but is prevented by the roller 3, crank 8c, and brake.
