Abstract

475,946. Junction boxes. REDIFFUSION, Ltd., and NEWALL, J. S. May 28, 1936, No. 15093. [Class 38 (i)] A junction box comprises removable connectors 4, either located individually between upstanding ribs 3 in the casing 2, Fig. 1, or mounted collectively on an insulating carrier 13 itself located by projections 3 in the casing, Fig. 4, the connectors being held in position by application of the lid 6 which engages projections 7 on the individual connectors, Fig. 1, or projections 14 on the carrier 13, Fig. 4, and the lid also being arranged to engage a presser plate 9 which compresses plastic filling material around the cable entrance. Earthing or bonding means for the cable sheath comprises two conducting strips 10, 11 clamped around the cable by connecting screws. The ribs 3, Fig. 1, may have projections 5 engaging recesses in the connectors 4.
