Abstract

475,857. Reflectors. DIETRICH, F. R. May 3, 1937, No. 12621. [Class 75 (ii)] A reflector for a suspended lamp comprises two coaxial parts, one part 1 being ellipsoidal, approximating to a hemisphere, and having foci F\ F<2> on the axis, with the light source at the rear focus F<1>, the other part 2 being cylindrical and forming an extension of the open end of the part 1 and extending beyond the front focus F<2> to such a distance that it does not obstruct the rays reflected from the part 1. The apex 3 of the part 1 may be flattened, whilst the end of the part 2 may be closed by a slightly dispersive spherical glass 4.
