Abstract

462,829. Plaster boards &c. LEFEBURE, V., and IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Sept. 16, 1935, No. 25683. [Class 87 (i)] A plaster board, sheet, or block consists of a layer of a calcium sulphate plaster to one or both faces of which is bonded a relatively thin sheet of fibrous board composed at least partly of asbestos fibre. The fibrous board may comprise 15 per cent. to 60 per cent. asbestos fibre and 85 per cent. to 40 per cent. organic fibrous material e.g. wood pulp or it may comprise one or more layers of asbestos material 11, 13 and 12, 14 and one or more layers of organic fibrous material 5, 7, 9 and 6, 8, 10. In a further form, a layer of organic fibrous material is bonded to each face of the base and a layer of asbestos material is attached to each of these layers by an adhesive either before or after the bonding of the fibrous layers to the base.
