[Class 103 (ii)] [Also in Group XXV] A bracket for a vehicle anti - dazzle visor comprises a member adapted to engage and carry the visor supported ad. justably from a fixed base by two pivotal joints with their axes at right angles to each other, one of the joints including a pivot-pin and a friction member housed partially or completely in one of the joint members and mounted on the pin for movement along it to vary the friction' at the joint. In the form shown in Fig. 3, an intermediate bracket member 9 is pivoted to a base member 6 by a flat-sided projection 8 fitting between the limbs 16 of a forked member 12 rotating in the part 6, the parts 9, 12 being thus forced to rotate together so that a screw 13 connecting them has no tendency to slacken; a spring 14 placed between shoulders on the parts 6, 12 provides friction which is adjustable by means of the screw 13. The other end of the member 9 has an eye 10 containing a rubber bush 18 with a brass liner 19 through which passes freely a pin 25 carrying a forked member 21 adapted for fixing to the visor ; the pin engages a nut 26 which is non-rotatably carried in one eye of the member 21 and which compresses the sleeve 18 to produce friction in the joint through two wearing plates 24 carried in the eye 10. Additional wearing plates may be non-rotatably carried on the pin. The rubber sleeve 18 may be replaced by a spring, or rubber bushes may be placed in the eyes of the member 21. instead of in the eye 10. In a modification, Fig. 5, the eye 10 is formed with a double-conical bore to receive two conical bearing members 27 which are non- rotatably mounted in the eyes of member 21 and are pressed together by a screw 25.
