Abstract
469,086. Screw propellers. LANG, A. A. D. Jan. 17, 1936, No. 1611. [Class 114] A non-metallic detachable airscrew blade has embedded therein a reinforcing member of bladelike form and extending into the shank. A rod 2 flattened from its circular end outwardly to a form approximating to the shape of the blade 1 is secured in the shank by a nut 3. The member may be serrated, roughened or punched and is preferably formed from steel. It may be located within aligned recesses machined in two of the adjacent laminµ when the blade is built up from wood laminations. Specification 397,513, [Group XXIII], is referred to.
