[Class 40 (i)] The transmitter of a resultant-field signalling system comprises three brushes contacting with a divided conducting drum, the two conducting segments of the drum being of unequal size and connected to the two poles of a battery. As shown, the two segments 4 and 5 are divided by the insulating strip 3, the two conducting segments being of unequal size and the brushes being spaced at 120‹. The receiver comprises a star- or delta-connected rotor which rotates in a stationary magnetic field.
