458,852. Hygienic devices. SALERNI, J., 22, Avenue Kleber, Paris. March 21, 1935, No. 8928. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 23, 1935]. [Class 40 (iv)] Protective screens for a telephone instrument are fitted removably on the earpiece, the mouthpiece or on both. As shown in Fig. 2, perforated caps a, b of cardboard or paper are sprung over the earpiece and mouthpiece of a hand telephone set. The cap b is cut and the part b<1> bent back to fit the inclined part m of the mouthpiece. As shown in Fig. 3, the screens a, b are carried by spring clips f<1>, f, which 'engage the instrument. The screens are of metal with lugs p<1>, p<2>, p<3> glued to the clips. As shown in Fig. 4, a single screen a perforated at o and at b<3> fits over the mouthpiece and the earpiece of a hand set. The screens may be slotted or they may be imperforate, or flexible covers may be used. A number of screens which have been treated with antiseptic material or scented may be stored in a magazine for use gratuitously or on the insertion of a coin, and the screen b may fit within the screen a for storage.
