458,158. Delivery apparatus for printing-machines. DRESDEN-LEIPZIGER SCHNELLPRESSEN - FABRIK AKT.-GES., Coswig, near Dresden, Germany. May 22, 1936, No. 14525. Convention date, Aug. 21, 1935. [Classes 100 (i) and 100 (ii)] Set-off, preventing.-A sheet-delivery apparatus for printing-machines comprises means for directing air blasts on both faces of the sheets so as to prevent contact thereof with the guiding surfaces, thus preventing set-off. The sheets are delivered from the impression cylinder 1 by grippers 9 on endless chains 8 which pass over a drum 4 and between guides 10, 12. The drum and guides are hollow and fitted with opposed nozzles whereby air blasts from a fan 17 may be directed on to both faces of the sheet. The air may be heated or a gas such as ozone' may be employed. The nozzles may point in the direction of, opposite to, or perpendicular to the motion of the sheet.
