[Class 39 (iii)] In apparatus for producing tubular heaters consisting of a tubular casing 15 containing a granular insulating mass 30 in which a resistance 16 is embedded the tamp. ing tube 14 for pressing the granular material is provided with a longitudinal slot through which extends a holder 20 for the upper end of the resistance, the holder being arranged to move simultaneously with the casing 15. The holder is formed with a depending hook 22 and is adjustably mounted on a lug 25 of a sleeve 24 clamped around the casing 15. The connecting wire 11 for the resistance 16 is supported from the hook 22 by means of a thin wire. A delivery funnel 23 for the insulating material is mounted on the sleeve 24. In a modification, the holder is mounted on the funnel.
