448,530. Adjusting valve clearance. JENKS BROS., Ltd., and ROUGHTON, G., Owen Road Works, Wolverhampton. Jan. 28, 1935, No. 2687. [Class 61 (iii)] Wrenches ; screwdrivers.-A device for adjusting the bearing screw C of a valve rocker B or any other screw in relation to a part into which it is screwed comprises a housing D to engage about the screw C, as for example with a locknut c and a central tool F rotatable within the housing and having a screwdriver end &c. to engage a saw-cut &c. c<1> in the end of the screw C, the housing being provided with a graduated dial d<2> and the central tool with a pointer f<1> enabling the screw C to be set for the requisite clearance between the rocker and valve stem ; the dial scale may be such that each division represents one thousandth clearance. A spring- pressed ball d‹ mounted in the housing D provides holding friction for the movement of the central tool.
