Abstract
447,946. Converting. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown. House, Aldwych, London. April 29, 1935, No. 12768. Convention date, April 28, 1934. [Class 38 (ii)] [See also Croup XL] A double-wave rectifier, which is described in Specification 432,177, [Group XL], is surrounded by a coil 33 energized through a Selsyn motor 34 from a three-phase supply 35. The tube is connected to the supply 35 through a transformer 29, the centre tapping on the secondary of which is connected to the cathode through an ammeter 31 and the load 30, and the cathode heater is energized through the transformer 37. The point in each cycle at which the tube is ignited can be varied by rotation of the armature 36. A curve showing the relationship between the igniting potential and the field strength is contained in the Specification. Specifications 447,947 and 449,807 are referred to.
